New Pattern: Prismatic Quilt

I had so much fun designing my latest quilt pattern.... introducing, the Prismatic Quilt! I love the clean geometric lines and the modern southwest style of this design.
It's a throw sized quilt, and it's a series of half square triangles and rectangles, so it's a great beginner pattern. I used all Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton solids for my version, since I wanted the focus to be on the geometry and on the beautiful machine quilting. Since I'm still fairly new to quilting myself, I wanted to design a quilt that would be fun to put together without being too daunting.
There are two sizes of half square triangles, and if you have never tried making them before, this is a great introduction! I love how the look of the quilt can vary so drastically based on the colors you choose and how much they contrast with each other.
When I was planning this quilt, I added color in Adobe Illustrator so I could really visualize which colors I wanted to have in my final quilt. I went through a handful of color ideas until I landed on one that struck me. This process was so helpful to me, that I decided to include a blank coloring page so that you can color your own! There's also a section to write notes about which fabrics go where, it's so handy to have your own reference chart.
For this quilt, I chose to get it professionally quilted by a longarmer who I met at Quilt Market last year -- I can't recommend Melissa Kelly of Sew Shabby Quilting enough! She was a delight to work with, and did such an amazing job on the Prismatic Quilt.
This pattern is available now in my shop as an instant digital download. I can't wait to see what you create! Tag your photos on Instagram with #prismaticquilt and don't forget to tag me as well (@jenfoxstudios).
Look for a mini quilt version coming soon!
